Chelsea Wolfe - Hypnos / Flame (7")
LP
2015 was a landmark year for Chelsea Wolfe, with her latest full-length album Abyss garnering an overwhelmingly positive response from notable press outlets including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR, and much more. Released in August Abyss reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseakers chart and sold of 5,000 copies in the first week. The album propelled nearly sold-out nearly headlining tours in North America and Europe, along with television and film placements in Fear The Walking Dead, Dark Places, How To Get Away With Murder, American Horror Story: Hotel, and more. Now, the artist Noisey describes as "a step away from being the biggest singer-songwriter of our generation" is releasing a seven-inch featuring two previously unreleased songs: "Hypnos" and "Flame." Recorded during the Abyss sessions, "Hypnos" and "Flame" strip away the heavy distortion that characterized much of her last album, highlighting both the folk roots of her early work as well as the ethereal production of and intimate lyricism that have come to distinguish Chelsea Wolfe's music. The Hypnos/Flame seven-inch is available exclusively to independent records stores.
