The time spent putting this album together is precious and hard, but absolutely the right thing to be directing my thoughts and efforts towards in these months of mystery of how and why we are here doing this. The friends who have come together to help me make it happen are all so dear. I am in awe of the way they have each taken in Morgan’s music and made it their own, while keeping Morgan’s joyful spirit present along the way.

It had always been Morgan’s dream to have a double-vinyl album, with a booklet, like he remembered from “story-albums” from his childhood. Since working on Gustafer, he talked about it many times, and we always knew that if we ever could do it, it would be made with yellow vinyl. So here we are! Making one of Morgan’s dreams come true.

The first LP is the top 14 songs voted for by YOU as your favorite Gustafer Yellowgold tracks.

The second LP is new recordings of Morgan Taylor/Gustafer Yellowgold songs by Frances England, Justin Roberts, Parker Jacobs, Chris Ballew, Jason Rabinowitz, The Okee Dokee Brothers, Greta Gertler, Wier Harman, Recess Monkey, Billy Kelly, The Quiet Two, Dean Jones, Gail Ann Dorsey, Friends of Gustafer Yellowgold, and a reading by our younger son, Ridley Loshak-Taylor.

The cover of the album features a drawing by our older son, Harvey Loshak-Taylor, and inside will be a full color booklet celebrating Morgan and his journey to creating Gustafer, with a timeline, fan and backstage photographs, and unseen artwork by Morgan.

The purpose of this album is to celebrate Morgan’s music, art, humor, and life, and to help it all go beyond his own time on this earth.
